FREEDOM'S WINGS
The mind's flight, the spiritual strength, and the divine blessing
by Verónica Arís Zlatar
I would like to thank to Virginia Hernández Becerra, head of Luna Rosa Art Gallery, for the invitation to participate in the project exhibition Freedom's wings that consists in 2 art exhibitions, one in Brussels under her management, and another in Miami under the management by Ana Carolina Moreno, head of Art Center Miami Gallery.
How to open our 'Freedom's wings'?
Freedom is not an easy thing, not even closer to the infinite line of free choices. Freedom belongs to will, and the will to the struggle between forces that may drive us to unexpected places. Sometimes paradises, sometimes hell. How? Our thoughts become decisions, our decisions actions, and those actions our reality. To embrace our freedom, i.e., to display our wings, requires as well to embrace our responsibility in all we do to design our life; our thoughts, our feelings, our actions. No matter the context, the core of our life is ours. Only ours. What shall we do?
FREEDOM'S WINGS part 1
The mind's flight & the spiritual strength
'Flying', 2021
Charcoal on linen, 40x50cm.
'Flying' tells the story of thinking, this light dimension that helps us in foreseeing possible traces for a meaningful life. It is time to be creative. Let us think, let us dream, let us plan!
'Brave to bloom', 2021
Charcoal on linen, 40x50cm.
'Brave to bloom' remarks the fact that building-designing ourselves requires the value of braveness, without which even right decisions cannot be handled. It is always hard to leave the comfort zone, even when that "comfort" has nothing to do with something pleasant or safe.
FREEDOM'S WINGS part 2
The divine blessing - inspiration
'Alma Venus', 2021
Charcoal on linen, 40x50cm.
'Alma Venus' depicts the goddess towards which we should direct our efforts as well as from which we will get the accurate guidance. New ideas grow better under the light of something greater, a plan, am strategy, a framework. We will open stronger wings if we understand deeply what we are about to do.
"Aeneadum genetrix, hominum diuomque uoluptas, alma Venus caeli subter labentia signa quae mare nauigerum quae terras frugiferentis concelebras,"
Lucrecio, De rerum natura
Beauty was part of Science and Philosophy once, while today risks her presence in Arts even... Venus portrayed by Lucrecio in his poem incarnates the presence of life and consequently the key inspiration for all natural science whose attempt should be to discover her secrets.
